Project Description
This external expertise supports the Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova (SBC) initiative, co-funded by the BMZ, the European Union, and the Swiss Government. It aims to improve socio-economic prospects by strengthening vocational education and training (VET) systems, particularly focusing on gender equality and inclusive access.
A concept for gender-sensitive training positions will be developed for VET institutions and partner companies. The initiative addresses barriers faced by girls, women, and disadvantaged groups, including cultural stereotypes, financial constraints, limited career guidance, and accessibility issues. Up to 10 VET institutions and ten partner companies will participate in the pilot, transforming them into inclusive learning environments that actively support equitable participation and advancement in dual VET programs. The concept will serve as a framework for integrating gender-sensitive practices into VET, improving access, retention, and progression while fostering institutional ownership for long-term sustainability. Collaboration with key stakeholders – including school managers, trainers, company representatives, and student groups – ensures that the approach is context-specific and impactful.
